Workshop "Financial Control 2007-2013"
BACKGROUND
For the present period 2007-2013, the European Commission sets out detailed arrangements on the management and control systems to be operated by Member States. The Commission aims to improve the efficiency of the control systems in order to avoid incorrect reimbursements. The Member States are given more responsibility in monitoring their operational programmes and have to ensure that systems run effectively. Furthermore, they have to prevent, detect and correct irregularities. The new audit requirements result in increasing audit obligations for the authorities of the Member States.
Public servants working in the field of Structural Funds have to face new challenges in their audit strategies and have to get ready for the new audit requirements.
WORKSHOP
The purpose of this two day workshop is to familiarise you with the new regulations and provide you with strategies to comply with the requirements of the Commission The exchange of know how and first experiences related to the new financial period 2007-2013 is another important part of the workshop.
The audit requirements for the system audit, the on-the-spot audits, sampling and reporting will be presented and discussed in the sessions and exchanges amongst participants facilitated.
The programme covers the new legal provisions, audit standards, the audit approach and a case study of an on-the-spot check, thereby enhancing discussions along with practical examples.
